چکیده
The present study objectively analysis the physicochemical parameters in Betwa River in Bundelkhnad region. Water samples were collected from 19 different point from Betwa River starting from th Orchha to Parichha in the month of January 2006 winter and May 2006 summer for the analyzing different physicochemical parameters of water. Total 15 different physicochemical parameters were analyzed. Correlation and the average chemical composition of major Indian Rivers and other world Rivers. The analyzed parameters are pH, EC, alkanity, hardness, Cl, SO , PO , NO , NH , F , Na, K, Ca, Mg and H SiO . The water of Betwa River 4 4 3 4 4 2 slightly alkaline in nature, the range varies from 7.5 to 8.7 and 7.4 to 8.9 during winter and summer season respectively. Betwa River water is very pricey in Bundelkhand region. The concentration of silica bicarbonate, calcium, magnesium are quit highly the relative abundance of ions in water of Betwa River collected during winter are as follows HCO > Na > Mg > Ca > K > H SiO > Cl > NO -> PO > F ammonia and sulphate are found 3 4 4 3 4 + 2+ 2+ + to be below the detectable limit. The relative abundance of ions in the water of Betwa River collected during summer are as follows HCO -> Mg > Na > Ca > H SiO > K > Cl > NO > F-ammonia and phosphate are mostly 3 4 4 3 2+ + 2+ + found to equal concentration in the River water. Background: According to Hindu mythology, Yamuna River plays an impotent role as a holy water resource in Delhi, India. The lead and chromium concentrations were determined from the water samples collected from five different locations around this river in Delhi area. The contaminated water from this river is mostly used for drinking, agriculture, aquaculture, and storage as a holy water. Meth...

In India, freshwater aquatic resources are suffering from increasing human population, urbanization and shortage of all kind of natural resources like water. To mitigate this, all the major rivers have been planned for a river-interlinking through an interlinking canal system under a huge scheme; yet, the baseline information on ecological conditions of those tropical rivers and their fish comm...
